[ TPA2080D1 ] Current Limit

[ TPA2080D1 ] Current Limit

Hi,

IL (average inductor current) has three different current limit specifications as table below. Can you help me to understand the difference? Specially, "Boost converter starts up from full shutdown, 600mA" and "Boost converter wakes up from auto-pass through mode, 1000mA" are not clear for me.

It's must be great help, if you have any of docs, drawing to express these.

Thanks,

Ken

  • During normal operation, the current into the boost converter is limited to 1800mA. If this current is exceeded (for example, a short circuit or a low impedance load), the TPA2080D1will deactivate the speaker amp.
The two other specifications (start up current limits) show how much current may flow into the boost converter circuit when it starts up (either from a full shutdown or auto-wake up in ATP mode). This is due to current spikes when the charge pump capacitor is discharged, regardless of load.
