TAS5754M Issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5754M

Hello,

customer use TAS5754M and use one path for I2S output for subwoofer. Another path go through Class D amplifier for Stereo.

First questions, customer would like to separate control volume of these two path, is it possible? That is separate control I2S output and speaker amp volume. Another question, our device has mute function. The speaker amp output and I2S output are simultaneously muted or can separate muted by I2S output and speaker amp output while use mute function. Thank you.

  • Hi Patrick,

Yes, TAS5754M has seperate digital volume control for left and right channels. It also have seperate mute function for left and right channels as well. There's an option to gang the two volume control if preferred, but the two channel volumes are independent.

  • Hello Lewis

Thank you for your feedback. I re-described my questions. Per datasheet page 50, we would like to configure the signal to originate after a subwoofer generation block, which sums in the inputs and applies a low-pass filter to create a mono, low-frequency signal. This is first path. The second path is after audio processing block and the signal is applied to speaker amplifier. The volume of the serial data out (I2S) which after low pass filter and the speaker amplifier output can be separated controlled or not? Separate mute is possible or not for these two path? Due to we don't know HybridFlows how to work detail, so the questions are needed to clarify. Please refer to 8.3.3.7 Serial Data Output that datasheet describe.

                 Thanks for your help again.

    BR
