TLV320AIC3254EVM-K Not Being Programmed By EEPROM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3254EVM-K

Hello

I am using a TLV320AIC3254EVM-K.  It doesn't appear to program the CODEC registers with the information in the EEPROM upon power up.  If I load the script associated with the selected EEPROM .BIN file via the GUI command-line interface, the CODEC registers get programmed.

If I select a different EEPROM .BIN file, the "USB Audio Sampling Rate" field in the GUI changes appropriately.  If I sign the EEPROM with a name, the "EVM NAME" field in the GUI changes accordingly.  I believe both of these results indicate that the EEPROM is being programmed.

I get the same results whether I use firmware version 2.03 or 3.04.

All jumpers and switches are in their default positions.

D2, the "USB ACTIVE" LED lights.

Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide.

  • Hi August,

These firmware images program the USB controller that is on the board. It will not program the EEPROM.

We used to have a separate functionality that allowed writing device scripts to the EEPROM, however, we discontinued that functionality because we needed more space in the USB controller RAM to do other functions. Also, the EEPROM on the EVM-K is not big enough to hold any meaningful script.

    Regards,
