LM1875 neg. feedback resistor values with single supply

The data sheet shows values of the resistors to be 10x (200k, 10k) that of the the values (20k,1k) with dual rail power supply. What is the reasoning behind this?

Thanks, John

  • I can't think of any real reason, but R5 and C3 will govern the low frequency cut-off and if you want to use a smaller C3 then you need a bigger R5. The feedback value of 200K is a bit high and will add to the noise floor. I'd suggest 20K and 1K as per the dual rail schematic.
