I am a new user of beaglebone black and I have a problem regarding audio output. I need to configure beaglebone black with an audio DAC and then play the audio through an external speaker so, I need to know which DAC would be compatible with the board. I had figured PCM5101a can be used for the purpose but it is unavailable at this moment. I'm aware of stereo in the HDMI output but that is not an option.
So please suggest how can i get the DAC urgently or if any other DAC similar to this one can be used in its place.

Hi Shristi,

If you search for beagle bone audio cape, you can find already created examples of using our codes with the beagle bone platform (beaglebone black or white). Since the AM335X is able to output PCM data and I2C communication, it will work with any of our audio DACs.

Thanks Justin. But that's where the problem lies.. I have to use an audio DAC, an amplifier and external speakers instead of the audio cape.
