TAS5711_SSTIMER on BD mode( again)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5711

Hello

Thank you for your support, and I am sorry to bother you again.

Please adivse one more question  about TAS5711 SSTIMER in BD mode which is from customer...

**Question**

In the TAS5711 data sheet page 24 , SSTIMER should be left floating in BD mode, but

Please give us the reason why data sheet says so..

In the other Post ,Your(Diego-^san's)  latest answer is

"  Datasheet suggestion to leave that pin floating has the only purpose to save bill

of material cost when the device is configured in BD mode. "

,,, but please let us know the reason to be floating in BD mode and concern if  2.2nF cap are added in SSTIMER pin in BD mode.

  • Hi Shibatani-san,

Sorry for the delay, When in BD mode there should be <<10mV of offset between PWM+ and PWM-, so this modulation does not require a ramp to start-up, therefore we suggest not having the cap there as it is not necessary as it is in AD mode.

Having the SSTIMER cap on with BD mode may sometimes affect the BD start up sequence if the value is too large, the maximum recommended value for SSTIMER cap is 2200pF.

  • Dear Diego sanThank you for your asnwer quickly!!
Please let me know about your answer..
What/How is the phenomenon about " affect BD start up sequence if the cap value is too large" in BD mode?
Please give me your comment.Best Regards
