signal processing with TLV320ADC3101EVM-K

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320ADC3101EVM-K

In my evaluation module TLV320ADC3101EVM-K  the signal processing features do not work.

I have configured some filters with the Biquad Filter Tool of the ADC3101 Control Software, but the recorded audio is totally unaffected by the filter.

In order to test the filter I have made the following operations:

1) I have configured the recording input (e.g. for line in stereo recording)

2) I have sent a signal (a 1000Hz tone) into the chosen analog input

3) I have configured a filter (e.g. a 2000 Hz High pass filter) in the Biquad Filter Tool section

4) I have calculated the coefficients of the filter and downloaded them into the board

5) in the recorded audio there is no difference before and after the download of the filter into the board.

Notes:

a) I have used the default hardware (jumpers, switches,...) and software settings (fs = 44.1 kHz, etc)

b) with the ADC3101 Control Software I can change the other configurations (e.g. I can change the analog and digital gains and the input routings),

c) in the main panel window the FIRMWARE NAME and VERSION are USB-MODEVM V0105

Do you have any idea about the cause of this malfunction?

Many thanks

  • Hi Gerolamo, Welcome to E2E!

I have followed the same steps as you, I loaded the audio recording Line-In script and configured the biquads, the device is working fine. I have USB-AudioEVM 3.04 firmware, so I'm not sure but this may be related to the FW version, you may follow the steps in the Upgrading the EEPROM from Versions below 2.01 tab in the EEPROM writer section of the GUI. Attached is the firmware image I used.

  • Hi Diego,

I have upgraded the FW to 3.04 and used the FW image you used and now the biquad filters work in my EVM as well.

    Thanks
