I'm working to identify CODECs that can operate solely on just the BCLK and WCLK. I was looking into the TLV320AIC3110 and noted that on page 2 of the datasheet, that it states "MCLK is PLL input; however, BCLK, GPIO1, etc., can also be PLL input." on the functional diagram. Is it safe to say, that given the wording that this CODEC can be used without the MCLK input and run just off BCLK and WCLK?
If so, is is then safe to say that all of the TLV320AIC31xx and 32xx devices can source BCLK and WCLK without the need for MCLK? This is what I suspect from a quick overview, but was looking for a solid confirmation.
