AIC3254 CS IN1L through AGC, DRC setup

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3254EVM-K

I have the TLV320AIC3254EVM-K board set up and functioning with the AIC3254 CS software.   Using a function generator, I'm driving the IN1L input and outputting using I2S.  I'd like to be able to test/evaluate AGC, DRC, filtering and other functions/panels simultaneously, but when I select any one of these the eval board is reset and my input settings, ADC levels and such appear to be overwritten.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

  • Those functions reset the device when loaded. Please refer to e2e.ti.com/.../2740.where-can-i-find-example-scripts-for-these-codecs for information on what those scripts do.

  • I guess I assumed that the device would allow set up in a manner than allowed selecting inputs and outputs and then experimentation with signal processing such as AGC, DRC filters and such.  It sounds like the AIC3254 CS only provides the platform and it's up to the user to write scripts.   Is this correct or are there ways to experiment without writing scripts?

    Thanks.

  • When you open a Feature in AIC3254 CS it asks if you would like to program the device for that feature. That will program the device to achieve that function per the Information tab. For example, if you go to AIC3254 CS > Features > AGC, and click the Information tab, it will describe the assumed configuration based on the script that is loaded when you clicked OK. If you have any special configuration that is different, then you can configure the part to meet your needs by either using the GUI tool to change controls, inputs, etc. or by modifying the script that is loaded under [AIC3254 CS Install]\DATA\EVM\AGC.
