TLV320ADC3101 / How to set CIC gain

Hi Everyone,

Please let me ask about how to set CIC gain. Our customer ask how to set CIC gain to 0dB with following situation.

AOSR = 64
Processing Blocks = PRB_R7

I understand that the CIC gain can be calculated with following formula, so I think "miniDSP Engine Decimation" and "CIC Filter Gain Control" should be set. Please let me know if you need more information to set it.

Hello Satoshi-San,

CIC filter gain control is selected via register 59, however, MiniDSP engine decimation depends on the Processing block used. in the case of Processing block 7, this value corresponds to 2.

Hi Diego-san,

Thank you for your comment. I confirmed the datasheet again, but I can not understand why the MiniDSP engine decimation corresponds to 2 in the case of Processing block 7. Can you explain more about it?

Hi Diego-san,

Let me ask one more simple question. Is the ": Decimation ratio in ADC miniDSP engine" in Register 22 and "miniDSP Engine Decimation" in Register 59 the same meaning?

Hi Satoshi-San,

My apologies for the delay. Your assumption is correct, the values set in register 22 corresponds to the MiniDSP engine decimation. According to the formula, after selecting PRB_7, you need to configure register 59 with a value of 2 in order to get a gain of 1 with the default CIC filter gain control.
