PCM5100A Output Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM5100A

Hi,

Why PCM5100A output waveform looks abnormal at 10KHz(44.1KHz)? EVM also got it(96KHz).

Thanks!

  • Hi Jerry,
How is your board setup? (Jumpers, inputs, switch settings) I am getting a similar waveform but not quite to the extreme that yours is.
Is this image from the EVM or the customer's board?
What are you using for your input signal?
    My board has jumpers on W3 (9-13, and 15), W1 (2-3), W2 (2-3), W5 (2-3), W4 (1-2)
Switch (SW3) is setup (from top to bottom): Right, left, RightRegards,
    Mike Ulrich
  • Hi Jerry,

After playing around with the EVM I found that I can reproduce the output you see when SW3 is configured incorrectly. For S/PDIF inputs please configure the switch going from top to bottom as:
    Right (High)
    Left (Low)
    Right (High)
    Don't Care

    Regards,
    Mike Ulrich
