How to interface different DC bias between audio DAC and Class-D amp ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2028D1

Dear Sirs,

Hope to get your suggestion on this question .

Our DAC output is 1V bias and class-D AMP TPA2028 is 2.5V bias connected with 0.1uF Cap.

There's a 2.5V pulse coupling to DAC when TPA2028 enable .

Its possible to damage DAC,right ?  Also have potential pop noise issue .

Many thanks !

  • Hi Terry,

The input capacitor of the TPA2028D1 will take care of the offset from the DAC but it must be 1uF instead of 0.1uF; there is some information in the Input Capacitor section of the D/S.
When the Class D amplifier has a DAC signal at the input, it's recommended to place an RC low-pass filter at the input to eliminate the out-of-band noise.
