Hi there,

I had a few questions regarding the TLV320AIC3263, which have been listed below:

What methods does the Noise Suppression use? Such as beamforming or…?

What are the microphones and speakers’ placement requirements when using TI’s Noise Suppression?
What are the microphone’s performance requirements when using TI’s Noise Suppression?
What are the performances of Noise Suppression for both stationary and no stationary noise?

Any samples to listen?
What is the echo cancelation performance?
What is double talk performance?
Can NS be enabled in recording path?
Is ANC (active noise cancellation) Adaptive Ambient Noise Cancellation, which is different as Noise Suppression?

Your insight would be appreciated.

We do not support ANC in the miniDSP any longer.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Can you confirm whether this feature was noise suppression (suppressing noise on the input side) or active noise cancellation (suppressing noise on the output side)?

Hi Andrew,

We only support single mic noise reduction.

Dual mic uplink noise cancellation or headset noise cancellation is not supported.

Great, thanks for clarifying.

We were curious as to why the evaluation board has 4 equally spaced microphones. Can you provide some insight on the applications of these microphones?

Andrew,

It is used to focus the recorded signal to a particular area and attenuate others. We do not have such algorithm but could be implemented with delays between one mic and another.

Andrew,

We only support the algorithms that you can find in PurePath Studio. Any other algorithm that you would like to implement you could use the basic blocks that we have. Noise cancellation and Echo cancellation are not supported.

I just checked, and only for AIC326x we do have a beamformer (look for Mic_BF and Spk_BF under TI Algorithms). Information on that particular algorithm is available on the Help file of the component.

Did you succeed with beam forming? I have a evaluation model and want to use it for similar application
