[USB Auido] TAS1020B vs TUSB3200

Guru 24520 points

Hi community member,

Please let me confirm the following question.

[Question]

Would you please teach me the difference between TAS1020B and TUSB3200?

Best regards.

Kaka

  • Hi Kaka-San,

These devices are very similar with minor differences as memory size or DMA channels. I must point out that these devices are quite old and we are not longer recommending them for new designs, so the support will be limited. The suggested substitute is the TMS320C5533 Fixed-point Digital Signal Processor. I suggest you to take a look to this page: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TAS1020B_vs_TMS320C5533_Comparison

  • Hi Diego,

Thank you for your response. I understand your commnts.
Please let me confirm the following question.
    [Question]
Do you have a plan that TAS1020B will be out of production?

    * I would like to know whether the TUSB1020B can introduce to my customer instead of TUSB3200.

    [Background]
I know that the both devices are NRND. So, I informed it to my customer, but they will use TUSB3200 for their application because they have been having the experience to use it. But the TUSB3200 was EOL(obsolete) a few days ago. So, we suggested to use the C5533 to them instead of using TSUB3200 for their application but they are not interested in this device because they likes the function of ACG and SOF function. If use the C553x family, it can not support this function in hardware.

    Best regards.

  • Hi, Motoki-san,

Sorry, both these devices are NRND, and we are no longer providing support for them as they should not be used in any new designs.

    Best regards,
    Don

    Thank you for your response.
I understood that those devices are NRND. But I would like to know the following question.
Do you have a plan that TAS1020B will be out of production?

    Best regards.
