TLV320DAC32

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320DAC32

Using TLV320DAC32 There is a slight but percetible hissing in the headphones with or without DAC activity. Seems the more inputs that are connected to HPLOUT & HPROUT makes the hissing more percetible (even if volumes are set to mute or minimum). Any recommendation for register tweaks or PCB layout that may reduce this hiss?

  • Hi John

I have few questions for you, so that we can solve this issue:

    1. Which configuration you are using the device in, Master or slave? What is the sample rate you are using, check all the clocks on the scope whether they are same as set?

    2. Are you using the EVM or the part in your system? Are you suing the GUI or the script to control the functionality of the part? If possible can you send the script or the screen shot of your settings on GUI?

    3. I can tweak into your configuration to see if the issue is with the settings or PCB layout. As on reset, DAC and HP output drivers are powered down, so you should not hear any hiss.

  • Hi,

I just got the DAC8586EM and HPA-MCU interface board, I have never worked with a DAC before, I understand the datasheet for the DAC8586, but I can not find any help on how to use the HPA-MCU interface board to evaluate. How do I use the SCI or CAN port to write to the pins once I plug in the DAC, rs322?
