TLV320AIC3204 without MCLK

Hi,

I used AIC3204EVM-K and disconnect MCKL from TAS1020. And I conntect BCLK to MCLK. It works, but the suound quality is  not good enough. I am trying to fine turn PLL, but notthing  be changed. Do you have any good idea for it? Thanks!
PS. Defaule setting. (MCLK = 11.2896MHz, BCLK=2.8224MHz, LRCLK=44.1KHz)

  • Hi Jerry,

This problem may be related to the PLL configuration. The device requires an input clock used to generate the required clocks for the internal ADC and DAC. You can configure BCLK to be PLL input clock via register 10. This way the usage of MCLK is not required, but you will need to re configure the PLL to match the sampling frequency you want. You can take a look to below settings, just need to make sure that BCLK is the input of PLL.
