TPA3110D2 - recommeded input range (LINP, LINN / RINP, RINN)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3110D2

Hi all,

Would you mind if we confirm recommeded input range (LINP, LINN  / RINP, RINN) of TPA3110D2?

Vcc : 8V upto 26V
Gain : 20dB upto 27dB

So, briefly,  is confirm recommeded input range approx 2.6Vpp?(26V's 1/10(20dB))

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Hirotaka,

To calculate the required input signal to active maximum clean power with the desired VCC voltage, you must use peak values. The 26V VCC rail is the theoretical maximum peak voltage across the load. If you divide this number by the gain (20dB) you get 2.6Vpeak. So you would need 5.2Vp-p or 1.84VRMS with a single ended input.

If using a differential input, you need 2.6Vpeak differential input or 1.3Vpeak on each input leg to ground where the inputs are 90deg out of phase with each other.

Keep in mind that the inputs on the TPA3110D2 are biased at 3VDC. Your peak input voltage cannot exceed this level.
