TLV320DAC3100 Headphone Detection

Hi TI Team

We are using TLV320DAC3100 DAC in our portable device application. We are unable to understand headphone detection circuit from EVM and Datasheet. How MICDET pin connected to ground when headphone pin inserted into audio jack.In the Reference circuit of EVM it shows Voltage divider resistor with 8 ohm speaker so this confusing us to implement headphone detection. So please suggest us the appropriate circuit for headphone detection  with audio jack and also with 8 ohm speaker.

    Hi Akashai,

    I think this document may be useful for you, it explains how the headset detection works. The document is based on a different family of devices, but the headset detection feature of the DAC3100 works in a very similar way.

    Hi Diego

    Thanks for your previous quick response.
    Could you please tell me can I connect one single ground to all the pins(including DVSS and IOVSS) or I will need a separate digital ground for DVSS and IOSS.

    Please also suggest us the layout guidelines of TLV320DAC3100
