Using LM1973 digital attenuator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA4311

I am currently using an LM1973 audio attenuator and finding regularly that one of the channels dies, resulting in changing the IC.  Any suggestions as to why?  Are there any alternatives to this IC?

  • Hi Tony,

Welcome to E2E, Thanks for your interest in our products!

This is an unexpected behavior, did you find any issues or strange behavior on the device before the channel dies?

As an alternative I would recommend you to take a look to the PGA4311.

  • No, the channel appears to be working normally, then fails.  We have noticed failed channels on new chips directly from the board assembly company
