Hi team,

We have some questions about TLV320AIC3254 and need your help.

Could we use TLV320AIC3254 as a DSP for dual microphone signal processing? e.g. microphone beam forming, or noise suppression.

Do you think there is other IC suggested for this application? Thank you!

Hi, Prescott,

All the codecs miniDSP supports the noise reduction block. It can be used as the following document mentions: 7245.Noise Reduction with Variable Filter Bands.pdf

However, the microphone beam forming block is only supported by the TLV320AIC3262 and the TLV320AIC3268 : 3036.Microphone Beamforming.pdf

These codecs could be used for your application as a DSP.

Hi, Prescott,

The TLV320AIC3254 miniDSP only supports the Spatial Filter Component which is similar to the beam forming algorithm:

1680.Spatial Filter Component.pdf

We suggest to use the TLV320AIC326x for the beam forming algorithms. For the rest of the codecs, the algorithms are limited because they don't have enough memory.

Do we have any document talking about the different incident angle of the Microphone Beamforming?
We would like to learn how to configure the TLV320AIC326X for different incident angle of the Microphone Beamforming.

The Microphone Beamformer Help document mentions how the angle affects the result at different frequencies:

Page 3 and 4 mentions the parameters involved in the algorithm result.
