Objective: Mix an analog signal with a S/PDIF or COAX digital and get a truly mixed I2S out.
Setup: The PCM9211 part seems like it may be able to do this. The data sheet states the following - "The PCM9211 integrates a stereo ADC, S/PDIF transceiver with up to 12 multiplexed inputs and 3x PCM inputs to allow other audio receivers to be multiplexed along with the analog and S/PDIF signals to a digital signal processor (DSP).
Question: Can the PCM9211 be configured in such a way that it is essentially mixing the ADC and the S/PDIF inputs so that the final I2S out can be used to create an acoustically pleasing, truly mixed signal.
Further Comments: The word "multiplexing" can be used for an "auto selection" function, (i.e. slow response multiplexing), it can also be applied to "high speed", or "word" multiplexing - which would essentially create the result of a mixed signal. We want the later.
Thanks
