Hi,

I would like to ask you basic questions about TAS5414 as below.

Q1) S/N performance

Is there happened S/N performance difference(worse) in following cases?

- In case of 2 outputs are used and other 2 ch are open (unused)

- In case of PBTL usecase (2ch outputs), only 1 ch is used and other ch is open (unused)

Q2) About "Open" ch

Is there anything problem happend in case the unsued outputs are open ("not to connected to Speaker")?

"Open" means 2 way - first case is just open " output pin", 2nd case is configured "pin + LC filter" with no speaker.

If there seems not to be good to open outputs, could you tell me anything recommend reference circuits?

Suzuki-san,

1. You will not see a change in the noise performance when two channels are in used and two are not used. The noise performance has not been characterized for PBTL mode.

2. Two channels can be operated open. The output does not need an LC filter, the pins can be left disconnected. In the I2C register 0x0C, keep these two channels in Hi-Z mode. This way there will never be a switching signal on these pins. The input pins for an unused channel should have a 0.1uF capacitor to ground.

I understood well but let me confirm how to set register 0x0C as below?

Q) for example, if we would like to make ch3 and ch4 be Hi-Z, what value should we set the register?

Only D3 and D2 are set to "1", others are "0", right ??

I do not understand well...
