PCM1681, question about overshoot/undershoot

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1681

Hi ,

One of my customer has a question about overshoot/undershoot on PCM1681.
I could't find these parameters on datasheet.

Please help to provide over/under shoot parameters of PCM1681.

Best Regards,
Taka

  • Hi Taka,

We do not have test data for over/under shoot. With that said, the specs should be fairly tight, are you noticing an abmormal amount of over/undershoot?

  • Hi Justin,

Thank you for your kind support.

My customer has confirmed the following input waveform on their board.
    - Undershoot is about -0.6 volts
    - The duration is 2ns.

From "7.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings" of PCM1681 datasheet, the minimum value of input voltage is -0.3 volts.
Therefore, it exceeds the maximum rating. Is that a problem for PCM1681 device?

    Best Regards,
    Taka

  • Hi Taka,

An anomaly that is that sharp sounds more like a I2S data problem rather than an undershoot problem, does it happen consistently? Can you send some scope shots of the signal? I would check that the configured PCM format and the PCM format supplied are the same.

  • Hi Justin-san,

Fistlly, I apologise for the delay in replying to you.

Also, my customer are no longer thes problem of over/undershoot by reviewing their circuit.
Currently, it is fit within the "Absolute Maximum Ratings" of datasheet.

Therefor, I will close this quetion.
Thank you for your kind support.

    Best Regards,
    Taka
