LM3886, temperature rise is increased, which characteristic has changed at the long term test?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3886

Dear Specialists,

My customer is evaluating LM3886.

After the test of long term test, temperature rise is increased.

He anticipated that output impedance is increased, output transistor HFE is decreased.

Is it correct?

Are there other reason?

Could you please advise which characteristic has changed.

---the customer use case---

Vcc: +24V, Vee: -24V

Supply current: 5.8Arms

Load resistance: 2.7ohm

-----

I appreciate your great help.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi

That is correct, output impedance will increase because the impedance of an IC changes with the temperature variation. Also the input impedance will change by the same reason. This condition happens because the resistors and capacitors into the IC are affected for the temperature changing.

Please let me know your opinion or if you have more questions.

    Best regards

  • Dear Jose

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand the device was increased the input impedance and output impedance.

I'll feedback the answer to the customer.

If additional question is come, could you please advise.

I appreciate your great help and cooperation.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi
