TAS5754M/56M Minimum Register Settings for Customer Board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5754M

Hi,

The registers that we should set exceed 4,000 places when loading the register file(the cfg file) which is dumped from the TAS5754M/56M evm.
So, could you please tell us the minimum registers which is necessary to set since there are too many registers that we should set.
Or, could you please tell us the registers that does not have to change from the default settings for the customer board ?

Best regards,
Kato

  • Hi Kato,

  • Hi Andy-san,

Thank you for your quick response.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Hi Kato,

Basically,  you have two options  to figure out the minimum register  configurations required.

    a)  Use a sniffer device to dump the communications on the i2c bus.

    b)  Make use of the logging feature in the PPC2.

Let me explain more on the second option.

Step 1:  Enable logging in the PPC2 as the figure below shows and then click the "View Log" button.  Click "Clear" button on the bottom in the "Log Viewer" window to make sure you have a clear starting point.

Step 2: Click the "Download" button and wait for the GUI to complete the downloading.

Step 3:  Click the "View Log" in the PPC2 again and copy all the contents and save them to a text file.

Step 4:  Remove all the irrelevant writes and you will get the minimum register configurations. For example, in the figure below all the writes not for the target device (0x98) are irrelevant and they should be removed.
