LMV1032 Gain Comparison

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMV1032

Hi team,

I see we have three versions of the LMV1032, providing different gains. Could you go over the advantages and disadvantages of using each of these (i.e. why would we not want a higher gain amplifier, what are some of the drawbacks, etc)?

Thank you,

Akash Patel

  • Hi Akash

The next table shows the parameters more important of the ICs.

      Devices
    Parameters LMV1032-06 LMV1032-15 LMV1032-25 Units
    SNR  58 61 61 dB
    PSRR 75 70 65 dB
    Vin(Max) 300 170 60 mVpp
    Vout 300 500 600 mV
    THD 0.11 0.13 0.35 %

You can observe that LMV1032-06 has best PSRR and THD, but worst SNR. All these parameters indicate that LMV1032-06 rejects a little best the noise. Also, you should take in account to select a device the application, for example, If you use LMV1032-25 and input receives a signal of 100mVpp, the device's output will get clicking(saturation), you would need to use LMV1032-15 because its Vin(Max) is 170mVpp.Lastly, you take in account the output signal level that you want to get.

Please let me know your opinion or if you have more questions.
