TLV320AIC3262 32-bit resolution?

Hello,

We are looking at the TI TLV320AIC3262 for our design.  The website states a resolution of 32 bits.  However, what is that specifying?  The dynamic range of the codec is 93dB (typ) which, divided by 6dB/bit gives 15.5 bits. What is the  correct audio bit depth?

    Hello, Jamal,

    The website refers to the audio serial interface word length. This device supports the I2S, Left-justified, Right-justified and DSP modes which can be configured with 16, 20, 24 or 32 bits of word length. This refers that the codec will send/receive a maximum of 32 bits per channel.
