Hi Team,

For audio amplifier like TAS5727, normally, we address the maximum output power at 10% THD.

What if customer’s spec. is asking for maximum output power at 30% distortion, can you support the measurement data for output power @ 30% THD+N?

Sony shows their product spec. as below. Can TAS5727 support to meet 75W/channel under the same conditions?

Total power: 300W (FL75W/FR75W/SW150W, 30% distortion)

Hi Ray,

I think 75W per channel is quite out of the device's possibilities, the amplifier may be able to meet 75W but in PBTL mode with 2-Ohm load. I will make some tests on the EVM to check the maximum power @ 30%THD, however i may not be able to get back to you until the end of the week.

I performed some tests, and with 30%THD Maximum power I could obtain was about 40W.

Hi Diego,

I tested it and get 40W into 8 ohms load in BTL mode.

Output Power into 8 ohms.pdf

However, I can't promise all TAS5727 is able to output this power.

It might has potential reliability issue.

What's your comment?
