Power available from TPA3118,3116 & TAS5613,5630 in single ended operation ??

hi,

we are looking to run the following chips(TPA3118,3116 & TAS5613,5630) in single ended mode for a couple of quad channel amplifier.We would like to know the power available from this chips for operation in 4E THD<1% in a quad configuration and is it advisable to design a quad channel amp keeping the thermal profile in view.

Hi, Ardhendu,

Welcome to e2e, and thanks for your interest in our products.

For the TPA3118D2 and TPA3116D2, both the modulation schemes we use require the use of BTL configuration. They don't support single-ended outputs.

You might want to take a look at TPA3123D2 which does support SE outputs.

For the TAS5613A and TAS5630B, I have asked my colleague to comment.

Hello Ardhendu,

The TAS5630B supports 4ohm loads with up to 55W / Channel @ 1% THD + N in AD modulation mode. With a properly designed heatsink, you should have no issues with getting 55W into 4 channels in SE simultaneously for a period of time before over temperature warning.

For the TAS5613A, I will check to see if we have characterization data in SE mode.

The TAS5613A will support 35W / Channel @ 1% THD with a 4ohm load.
