PCM2706 Not Recognized in Windows when FSEL is LOW

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2706

Hi,

I received a question about PCM2706 from our customer.
When FSEL is HIGH, Windows recognizes PCM2706 as a USB DAC device.
On the other hand when FSEL is LOW, Windows does not recognize PCM2706.
Is there any method that PCM2706 can be recognized by Windows, even if FSEL is LOW?
The conditions are as follows;
PSEL is LOW: self-powered.
HOST is HIGH : connected to VBUS.
DOUT is unused
FUNC0-3 are unused

Best regards,
Akio Ito

  • Hi Ito-san,

Are you using an EVM? If the answer is no, could you share your schematic?
Is there a chance that something else is being modified as FSEL is pulled low?
If I2S port (DOUT/FUNC0-3) will not be used, why setting FSEL = low? In I2S mode the USB streaming to analog output (Vout) is not available.

  • Ivan-san,

    Thank you for the answer.
I will confirm it and reply again next year, because our customer is already in New Year holiday.
