Hello-

I am evaluating the PCM3070 for a product and trying to determine if the following use case is possible:

An analog microphone will drive one of the ADCs.  After the ADC and some DSP processing, it will be sent via I2S to the system.  It will never be routed to the DACs.

Simultaneously, the I2S bus will source stereo audio from the system.  This audio will be processed, sent through the DACs and played out.

I am trying to confirm that this use case will be supported by the device.

    Hi, Dennis,

    This application can be applied on the PCM3070. However, the analog microphone cannot be powered by the PCM3070. If the microphone is powered by an external micbias and the microphone output respects the analog input range of the PCM3070, there wouldn't be problems. This codec can sent and receive I2S data simultaneously. Additionally, the internal miniDSP can be used for the signal processing as you mentioned.
