TPA6138 tina noisemodel

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA6138A2

the TPA6138 amp in G=+2 circuit and low impedance resistors simulates to 89uV/rthz noise density, resulting in mV noise and less than 70dB S/N. this does not seem very realistic. the model is encrypted so I cannot inspect the model. looks like a 3 order of magnitude error. milli instead of micro  or u instead of n.

has the noise model of the TPA6138 been verified ?

  • Hi Koen,

TPA6138A2 noise voltage is specified as 13uV so the 3 order of magnitude error seems to be the path to follow.
I will take a look at this. But it may take some time in case we need to modify the model.
    Thanks for pointing this.

  • when using a lowZ feedback resistor network the dominant opamp noise voltage would already help me a lot. and a 1/f noise corner gives me a good first order approximation, but the 1/f usually does not contribute much to the total S/N. do you have an input equivalent noise density ?
