Simple Speech Application

I have an application that requires a simple speech output. The speech output needed is to speak the numbers 0-9

If possible I'd like to have a chip with a serial input of some sort, like I2C or SPI or even a UART interface.

Does TI offer such a device?

I've received a handful of responses to this post. None of them answer the original question. Please - read the question again and respond. My application is very simple - I would like to find a device with a serial interface that will "speak" the numbers 0-9 based on the serial data sent to the device.

The signal switch forum answer I received asked me what type of switch I wish to use. The response does not apply to my question!

Carl,

I apologize for not being able to find you a signal switch solution for your application. TI does not have a signal switch that can meet your needs so I will move this thread to another forum where we can search for a solution.

Along with a microprocessor it seems like you will need a codec, an amplifier, and a speaker to take your digital signal and convert it into an analog signal and drive a speaker so that it will be audible.
