Need info for TAS5706EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5706B, TAS5706A, TPA6136A2, TPA6132A2

Hi

Wondering if someone can point me to info (datasheet for board and software) for the TAS5706EVM.

Seems the TAS5706EVM info on the site is not the same as the board I have.

The board has 4 outputs, spdif, usb, headphone, subwoofer PWM connector and is approx. 4" X 8".

Thanks much..

Richard

  • Hi,  Richard,

What you have there is one of our old EVMs. That particular version was obsoleted about a year ago.

If the new version offers the functionality you need, I highly recommend you upgrade to it. I think the big difference is the new EVM doesn't support the subwoofer out any longer.

Depending on your needs, one of our newer devices may be more appropriate.

Can you describe what you're trying to do?

    Thanks for the info.

"What you have there is one of our old EVMs."

Had a feeling that might be the case.

Is there any way to get the doc's and software for this board?

    Thanks again?

  • Richard,

Unfortunately, that EVM is no longer supported.

  • Don,

You mention the "new" EVM, yet I don't see any info for the TAS5706B EVM - is there one and if so, how would we get one?  I see an 'A' version, but no 'B'.

  • Leonard,

We don't have an EVM for the TAS5706B.

It is actually pin to pin with the TAS5706A, so if someone wants one, they can order an A EVM, some B samples ,and after some quick work with a hot air pencil, they will have a TAS5706B EVM in their hands!

  • Dear Don Dapkus:

Questions regarding Ground loop elimination with headphone amplifiers.

I found your demonstration video for the TPA6132AZ driver amplifier with the TPA  2012A2  useing a new "test ground" pin sense line to dynamically balance the driver amplifier ground with the receiving amplifier.

I'm currently working a ground loop issue with our C 27 J transport aircraft intercom system.

When the rear loadmaster plugs in his headset/microphone system into the intercom station and broadcasts by VOX or PTT switch the ground radio hears the 400Hz generator tone along with everything else he might have been listening to in his headset. IN other words a cross talk problem, Headset signal to microphone input.

They are useing a variety of headsets but the problem persistes with both the active and passive headsets:

    BOSE Aviation Headset X

    BOSE Aviation Headset Series II

    BOSE Aviation Headset A 20

    David Clark H10-76 Aviation Headset

My question is, can you list for me any aviation headset manufacturers who have employed the TPA6132A2 or TPA6136A2 chip sets which use  the "test ground" feature you demonstrated to eliminate ground loop interferences.

If not how would I go about purchase of sample amplifiers to build my own patch chord to test this configuration.

Our plan would be to test the new head set configuration to see if this eliminates the ground loop condition and cross talk we are experiencing or build a similar test patch chord to your demo unit.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.  We believe the ground loop is a combination of patch chord and Intercomm system poor grounding practices but we are out of time before deployment to fix the problem conventionally.

    Respectfully,
