TPA2011D1 Headphone Output

I am planning to use TPA2011D1 for my design. Along with the speaker output, I also want a headphones output. Can anyone advise where (before or after the TPA2011D1) should be more suitable to place the headphone output?

Hi, Andig,

It would be best to take the output at the input of the TPA2011D1 and feed it to your HP jack. If the previous stage doesn't have enough power to drive HP, then I suggest you look at the TPA6132A2, it's my FAVORITE TI HP amp! Great noise, audio performance, and best of all NO POP WHATSOEVER!!!!

Thanks D2! But I need more output power thanTPA6132A2 can offer. I will keep this in mind for a future project.

Andig,

Don't be a power snob!

25 mW is MORE than adequate for 95% of the HP applications.

If you REALLY need more, you can look at TPA6130A2 or TPA6110A2.

Thanks again D2! But I didn't tell you that output also needs to be connected to a 4-ohm speaker load. So if I chose TPA6132a2, my design will need two power amps: TPA2011D1 and TPA6132A2, which will cost more than we planned.
