LM386 Piezo speaker application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM386, LM48560, LM48580

Hi~

Customer using LM386 for piezo speaker target for mosquito application.

He using LM386 as max gain 200, and input is 12V and output freq is max up to 100kHz, but sound level is a little bit low so want to increase sound.

Piezo impedance(at 1kHz) is around 500ohm so I guess it looks too high impedance.

Is there any way to increase sound level with LM386 to drive Piezo speaker? (to make more louder)

Any advice will be welcome.

  • Hi Jin-Suk,

Does the sound level diminishes only at high frequencies?
Is there a schematic you could share?
You could also take a look at other amplifiers like LM48560 or LM48580. These amplifiers are specific for piezo speakers.
