Digital mic + Analog input on Eval-board AIC3262

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PUREPATHSTUDIO

Hi,
I am trying to use the AIC3262 Eval board do mix the input of a digital mic connected to (GPO1 and GPI1) and the onboard MIC_IN connector (J2).  I am using PPS to route these two signals to the HPL/HPR output. Currently  I am able to use either the digital mic or the analog input but not in combination.
For the time being I can mix any combination of ASI#1,ASI#2, ASI#3 and the analog input.

Is there any option to use the digital mic input and the analog input at the same time and route this signals to the HPL/HPR?

regards Martin

  • Hi, Martin,

Excuse me, could you provide your register configuration or your PPS file? It is to have a better approach to this issue.

    Thank you.

  • dig_mic_and_analog_input.zipHi,
    thank you for your reply.
I hope I attached the two files right. The zip file includes my process flow. The process flow includes both the digital and the analog mic. If I am using this setup only the digital microphone works. If I delete the digital microphone block the analog input works.
My question now is if it is possible to use both at the same time mixing up the signals and also use the possibility to adjust the volume independently.

I found a solution using the generated code and the CodecControl software as descibed in the attached picture. Is it also possible to model the scenario from the picture in PurePathStudio??

    Thanks for your help.

    regards Martin

  • Hi, Martin,

It is possible to combine your generated code and the CodecControl register settings on PurePath Studio. There's a property called SystemSettingsCode on the framework block which can be used to modify the initial register configuration.

So, if you found a solution with the help of the CodecControl, you may try programming the registers with the SystemSettingsCode in order to get the same results.

  • Hi,
thank you. I knew this possible solution but in that case i have to bypass the signal. I would like to route both signals (digital mic and analog mic) through the miniDPS which is not the case with the solution using the CodecControl.
If I could route both signals through the miniDSP I would have more options to modify the signal.

Regarding your proposal I doubt that there is another solution, right?

    Best regards Martin

  • Hi, Martin,

The best way to treat the signals is through the miniDSP and the SystemSettingsCode. If this solution is not possible, then there's no possible solution.
