aic3256 unipolar supply for headset

Is it okay to run the headset off of a single ended 1.8V supply for DRVDD_HP or should I use a 3.3V supply for DRVDD_HP to more closely match the bipolar voltage supplies 3.6V range. The headsets I am using have impedances from 24 to 100 ohms?
  • Hi, Deb,

There's no problem in use an 1.8V supply for DRVDD_HP. The minimal voltage for DRVDD_HP is 1.5V, so it should be no problem. Regarding your headset impedance, the minimal resistance for single-ended configuration is 14.4 ohms and 24.4 ohms for differential configuration.
