How can I reduce or eliminate POP noise from a codec?

POP noise is produced when a sudden change in voltage occurs on the audio outputs.
To reduce pop noise, some of our AICs have programmable power-on and ramp times for the output amplifiers.
For example, the AIC3107 has an Output Driver Pop Reduction Register at I2C Page 0, Register 42.
The driver power-on time is configurable for 0s, 100us, 10ms, 100ms, 400ms and 2s and the driver can be programmed to ramp up in 0ms, 1ms, 2ms or 4ms.
