What PCB copper thickness should I use?

The recommended PCB copper thickness is 2 oz (70u); however, in some cases cost constraints had required that 1 oz (35u) copper thickness be used.  Many successful systems have been developed using 1 oz copper.

Copper plane thickness less than 1 oz should be avoided due to current density in the traces and high parasitic impedance.
