Hi,

Can I use the HPL and HPR signals (Headphone Out) of TLV320DAC32 device for Line Out and RCA Out Interfaces?

Hi, Raja,

There should be no problem if the HP output signals are used for line out and RCA out interface. The minimal headphone-output load is 16-ohm. If this value is respected, the HP output can be used without problem.

Thanks Luis for the reply. I have another question regarding the same. Since, the Line Out and RCA Out interfaces have higher load impedance, do we need to take care about any discrete in the HPOUT Path? What are the recommended capacitor/resistor values for the same?

Hi, Raja,

Since the HPOUT will be used as a Line Out / RCA Out interface, it is recommended to use a 47uF AC-coupling capacitor. Also, for measuring purposes, it is suggested to add a low pass filter (R = 100 ohms, C = 47nF). This ensures that the out-of-band noise will be removed. It is recommended to use it when the outputs are connected to a Class-D amplifier.
