Does TI have an OPEN LOOP Class-D amplifier on its road-map?

Hello,

I am still stuck with the LM3886, the LM1875 and the TDA7293/4. They are simple to build, cheap and more importantly they allow me to use them as current drivers.
Once you have heard the current drivers, there is no going back to the voltage amplifier topology. The difference is just too sweet.

I would love to try it out on Class-D but most use BTL output, so will need an expensive Diff-amp to sense load current (while minding the common mode voltage) but then these amps do not readily allow me to close the loop.

TI just needs to give us something in Class-D that will allow us all the variations/ topologies that the Class-AB amp allowed. I am looking at something similar to the solution that IRF has around the IRS2092 but am wondering if TI has anything in their roadmap that is simpler.

I look forward to some suggestions on this.

Analog input, Open loop Class D, you can take TPA3004D2/TPA3002D2 as your reference.

Analog input, Single ended output, you can take TPA3124D2 as your reference.

Hello Peter,

Thank-you for your quick reply.

However, the suggested parts do not meet my requirement.

I am looking for a Class-D amplifier which will allow ne to configure the feedback loop to set the gain using external components, much like the Class-AB amplifiers. I aim to design a Class-D voltage-in current-out type of an amplifier by making use of the loudspeaker current feedback.

TI does not have such a device with them as of now and so I was wondering if, in near future, it has any plans to release one such type.

We mainly focus on Close loop Class D (For better PSRR and THD+N and so on....), of course we will take your suggestions into our road map consideration. Thanks so much for your interesting in TI's device and your suggestion.
