TPA3123D2 in BTL mode

I am looking to get 30 watts into 4 ohm.  The 3123 shows 25 watts/channel SE.  If I go with the BTL mode will I be able to get the 30 watts with less than 1% THD?

  • Hi, John. Thanks for visiting our forums.

The TPA3123 isn't designed to drive such a low load in BTL. I tested this for you in the lab to be sure, and unless you want to use a nice, big, beautiful heat sink, you're going to have thermal problems at high supply voltages and won't be able to hit your THD spec at lower supply voltages.

It has no problem doing 30W into 8 ohms but just isn't designed for such a low load in BTL.

Please let me know if I can help further.
