TLV320DAC3101EVM Evaluation Module

Hi!

I'm working on the DAC3101 evaluation module. I'm having some problems with the Codec Control Software (slac366.exe). 

When I open the software, some error appear. The error is '680.8' is not a valid floating point value, like in the image below: 

I need to do some tests with this codec before to implement in my system. Do you know what could be happening?

    Do you have information about the Playback and Recording devices on your PC? I mean, is the EVM being recognized when you connect it?

    The device was recognized, like the image below:

    It was recognized like a microphone and audio output. When I try to run a simulation on the CodecControl software, for example, an error appear like: "680.0 is not a valid floating point value" again...

    I don't  know what's happening. I think It isn't a driver problem, it is a software problem!

    You know what might be happening?

    Hi, Andre,

    Have you tried with the Troubleshoot compatibility option? This could be related with the Windows version that you're using.

    Please let me know if the problem persists.

    I tried to run the CodecControl software on a Windows XP SP2 machine and the same problem appear. In a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 too.
    It's a nice DAC, it is exactly what I need in my project. I need to evaluate this DAC to use together with a 10 ohm Audiometric earphone, before the implementation with my ARM microcontroller through the I²S and I²C interface. At this moment I'm trying to use the evaluation board connected to a Windows 10 machine, and a tried everything that is possible and the "CodecControl.exe" doesn't work. I develop simple embedded USB devices and normally I don't have this kind of problem on my PC.

    Hi, Luis,

    thank you for your attention. I just solve the problem occurred with the software, changing  the "region" and "numbers", from Portuguese - Brasil to English - United States, in the Windows configurations. The problem is related by the decimal symbols: comma and decimal point.

    The Image below shows how it was (Portuguese - Brasil):

    The correct configuration is (English - US):

    And verything is working fine:
