Best DAC for a high end portable Bluetooth receiver?

The PCM5102A and PCM1795 support 16, 24 and 32 bits audio data. However, these DACs don't have headphone output. If you're looking for plug the headphones, you should add an external headphone driver. Normally, the TLV320 family devices are used for battery-powered applications while the PCM family is used for line-powered applications.

Just as a comment, today's Bluetooth audio is usually 16 bit audio, and therefore limited to 96 dB SNR. So if you are purely outputting Bluetooth audio, then there is not much advantage to using something grater than 100 or so dB performance. However if you have other inputs/audio sources, then the performance can be warranted. If you are just doing Bluetooth, I would recommend one of the PCM5XXX parts such as the PCM5242 or PCM5142.

You would need a headphone amplifier and one that we recommend with the PCM5242 would be the TPA6120A2, but there are a few options in our portfolio, depending on your preferred package and cost.
