PCM186x application question?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1863

Hi Sir

1. if using external xtal, can PCM186x support I2S master mode and up to 192Khz sample rate?

2. please help to select external xtal frequency in support 192Khz or 96Khz.

3. can SCKO configured as MCLK output and fed to DAC.

4. in power down mode, can it senses analog input signal and trigger INT pin?

5. is there any different with power consumption between 192Khz and 96Khz in sleep(Energysense) mode?

  • Hi Chen,

    1. Yes.

    2. 24.576 MHz is the recommended frequency.

    3. Yes, a GPIO can be configured as an MCLK output to output the system clock generated from the XTAL.

    4. There are a few power modes available, and there are lower power modes that can monitor the inputs (Energysense) and trigger the interrupt pin. Please look at the Secondary ADC level change detection section in the data sheet.

    5. There will be no difference in sleep or Energysense modes in terms of power, only when the device is running.

  • Hi Sir

Does SCKO frequency support to 74.112Mhz?

and more question is i see the PCM1863 EVB need USB-I2X board . may we know how to get it?

  • Hi Chen,

The GPIO pins can support up to 50 MHz.

The USB-I2X board comes with any of the PCM186X EVMs.
