TLV320AIC3254 volume control

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3254, CC3200

Hi BU team,

our customer are evaluating a Wi-Fi smart speaker, the solution is CC3200 + TLV320AIC3254. while they found the soundness is too low when playing music. how to adjust the volume by the software/register setting. Or something they need to check on the hardware circuitry?

thanks

Luke

  • Hi, Luke,

There are few registers in the TLV320AIC3254 that can adjust the volume.

    From ADC side:
    - Analog inputs: Depending of the selected analog input, the gain can be adjusted with Page 1 / Registers 52 - 57. These registers select the input to be used and the gain.
    - PGA: The programmable gain amplifiers are controlled with Page 1 / Registers 59, 60.
    - ADC volume: The ADC has its own digital volume that can be adjusted in fine or large steps. Page 0 / Registers 82 - 84 are used for these purposes.

    From DAC side:
    - DAC volume: It is controlled with Page 0 / Registers 65, 66.
    - LOL/R Gain: The line outputs gain can be modified with Page 1 / Registers 18, 19.
    - HPL/R Gain: The headphone outputs gain can be modified with Page 1 / Registers 16, 17.

Please let me know if you have questions or comments.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
