Hi,

I want to do : using codec for real time audio streaming, I mean : I want to speak microphone and hear it from speaker simultaneously,

My microphone and speaker are analog,

As far as I know, it is "loopback" function of codec,

Can TLV320AIC3254EVM-U do it? If it can, how?

Hi, Michael,

That is correct, the TLV320AIC3254 has a loopback function that allows the interconnection of DOUT and DIN signals internally (refer to the Reference Guide, page 105). Also, for your application, it is possible to connect directly an analog input to one of the high power outputs of the codec:

According to scheme, when "loopback", the audio did not processed by codec, am I right?
Also, still I do not understand how can I success it, with registers? or using only hardware?

Hi, Michael,

The loopback controlled by bit D4 of register 29 s used to route the Stereo ADC output to Stereo DAC input, so the signal processed in the ADC will be routed to the DAC, where the coded can perform further processing.

This device is controlled and configurable via I²C. So, the loopback control is made after modifying the register mentioned above.

Hi, Michael,

In case of Loopback, the DAC data passes directly to the ADC. So, any process made in the ADC will be passed to the DAC, where more processing can be done to the signal.
