TAS5760M THD+N

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5760M

Hi,

In the specification 7.10. Speaker Amplifier in Stereo Bridge Tied Load Mode, the Po(spk) is 11W with PVDD=24V, R=4Ohm and THD+N= 0.1% as highlighted below.

However, figure 7 below seems to say that THD+N is lower than 0.1% which is almost 0.01% at Po=24W. Could you explain about this?

BR,

Ian

  • Hi, Ian,

This is because the 11W are related to the maximum continuous output power (limited by the thermal performance of the board). The instantaneous power (as in the THD+N chart)  in the TAS5760M under the same conditions is considerably larger than the continuous power as the thermal limit is not exeeded.
