LM48580 compared to LM48560

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM48580, LM48560

Hi,

Looking to evaluate the LM48580 for a new application but see that the only EVM available is the LM48560EVM.  Could you help me understand the difference between the LM48580 and the LM48560 in functionality?

Thanks,

Alex

  • Hi Alex,

You can evaluate using LM48560 EVM, they're very similar. Both devices are mono differential.
LM48580 is completely hardware controlled while LM48560 can be controlled through hardware or software (I2C).
In LM48580 the boost is always active providing 3 different gain levels while LM48560 allows you to choose between using the boost or not, providing a total of 6 different gain levels in software mode and 4 gain levels in hardware mode.
These devices are very similar but LM48560 offers more features.
